She was beautiful

She was beautiful.

But not like the norm.
She was beautiful for the way she was, the way she acted, the way she thought.
Not because she got many compliments or people stopped when they saw her.
She was beautiful for that sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved.
Not because her looks were stunning and gorgeous.
She was beautiful for the way she could make other people smile even if she was down.
She was beautiful because she could forgive and forget past mistakes and feelings that were hurt.
She was beautiful because she cared more about giving than receiving.

No, she wasn't beautiful for something as temporary as her looks.
She was beautiful, deep down in her soul.  Because she had been broken and healed by the gentle hands of the Creator.
She was beautiful because she loved who she was in Christ.
She was beautiful - not by the world's standards, but by God's.
