Who is watching?

We've all heard the 'little eyes are watching you' phrase.  This is something that God reminds me of daily.  Being the second oldest of seven children, I'm constantly having to remember that I'm setting an example for my little siblings.  And it's definitely not very easy.

But taking it a step further, I am a Christian too.  And as a believer, I am called to be a light in this dark world.  Not just in my home, but everywhere.  In my parents' house, I am an example to seven siblings.  When I step outside, I am an example to everyone I come in contact with who sees me.  Actions speak louder than words.  Just by my behavior and the way I carry myself can say a lot - and basically everything - to a stranger.  People's first impression isn't based on the way someone talks.  It's based on what they first see.

We need to remember that we are only here on earth for a little while.  Man's days are but a breathe in eternity.  We must make the most of our time as witnesses for Christ on this earth before we are called home.  We never know who sees us as an example of His love...and we may be the only one they ever know.

'Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.  Let all that you do, be done in love.'
- 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
