About | Raquel Z. Duarte

Oh hey!  Thanks for stopping by.  I'm Raquel.

I've never been good at writing about myself, but I shall try to, for your sake.

To start things off, I am an Oregon human through-and-through.  Born and raised in Portland.

My occupation is a barista at Dutch Bros by day and writer by night.  (I know.  How much more hipster can you get?)

I am a lover of dark chocolate, hoodies, the smell of horses, exploring new places, and giving massages.  I am a firm believer that a mug of hot tea (I have an infatuation with matcha and Earl Grey), a good book, and a cozy blanket can cure just about anything.

Music is in my blood.  Writing is in my heart.  Exploration is in my feet.
You can almost always find me writing, reading or singing.  Sometimes all three at once.

22.  An ENTP.  Aries.  A daughter to two.  A sister to 6.  A bondservant to One.

I love radical ideas and passionate feelings, honest thoughts being spoken and gracious forgiveness when wronged.  I love languages and the complexities they posses.  I love human hearts that truly feel, and hurt deeply because they love deeply.  I love warm beds in cold rooms.  And sun amidst the raindrops.

  1. Miss Raquel,
Hi, I'm new to your blog, but I really like it so far! I love Jesus as well and desire to serve Him! He is my Daddy and He is the King of kings!! I also believe in and choose to save myself emotionally and physically for my future husband (if God's plan for me includes marriage). I am looking forward to reading more from you!
    God bless you,
    Talia

  2. Hello Raquel!
I really like your blog and more importantly, your morals and convictions. Our oldest son got married this past August. He courted his wife. Their very first physical contact, including holding hands, was at the wedding. Their first kiss was in private after the ceremony. It was just beautiful. What a blessing to marry in total purity.
Now we have another son ready for marriage and are praying for the Lord to bring the right young lady.
    May the Lord bless you.
    Kelly
PS. My 13 yr old daughter just started a blog. I'll have her take a look at your for some ideas. Hers is www.garmentsofgrace.blogspot.com

  12. Miss Raquel, you blog is awesome! I love all of your posts and read some of the "From a Guy's Point of View". I loved those, too! It was a cool idea to have guys answer questions like that considering that they don't normally talk about that kind of stuff. I have followed your other blog "In the Spotlight Fashion" for a little while, so I decided to check out this blog as well! I am so glad I did! Thanks for being such an encouragement to be modest and stay pure.
